Your new place has a pre-existing security system
Many times after you buy a house, you’ll find that the old owners didn’t take a security system. All the devices work, are hung in the best areas, and are ready to go. In this instance, all you may have to do is to call and establish a new contract. A Vivint installer will still come to your home to ensure there are no integration problems, and they could offer options on where you should replace bad outdated components. It's a fast trip, and you can get your 24/7 monitoring set up without paying for any new devices -- unless you get some new devices.
The outgoing homeowners can give an existing Vivint contract to you for a one-time transfer fee to make the transfer simpler. If the owners downsize to an apartment complex or retirement community, turning over the security contract might be an addendum of the sale.
You are looking to move and take your home security devices with you
You may need to bring your favorite smart devices with you to your new house when you move. It should be pretty easy to accomplish, as many components are portable. You can take down each device by yourself or call a Vivint installer to take down your devices. Then an expert will hang the same components -- and any new things you need -- in the new house. The home security contract will keep the same.
